Uncas McCluer (1843-1913) a native of Missouri graduated from Hampden Sydney Theological Seminary and became a traveling Presbyterian minister and home Missionary in Southwestern Virginia, primarily in Washington, Smythe and Tazewell Counties. The culmination of his career occurred in Cane Hill, Arkansas, after he and his family moved from Virginia in 1894.
